Today, my West Coast supervisor called me to say, “HAPPPPPY SECRETARY’S DAY!” to which I responded with a completely involuntary: “Blaaaaaaargggghhhhh noooooo.”
It is, indeed, Secretary’s Day. Seriously, who has the time to be alerted of this shit?
I reminded him that I am an Administrative Assistant. I didn’t bother reminding him that I also am in graduate school and am probably quantifiably smarter than him. Is there any meaningless Hallmark day when I can call him and say, “Happy Idiot’s Day!” ??
p.s. no offense to secretaries. Is that even a word that a people say anymore? I wasn’t aware. To me it’s like saying “Happy Dinosaur’s Day.”
